Approximately 130 years old, planted at the time of the First Sino-Japanese War, this weeping cherry has a girth of 175cm and a height of 15m (Edo Higan type), and has been designated as a town cultural property. The thick branches grow horizontally, and branches that sprout from them droop, while the trunk is thick, presenting the dignity of a great tree. Since flowers bloom before leaves develop, you can enjoy a wonderful spectacle. The pink flowers blooming as if spilling down from the great tree elicit sighs from visitors. Also, the spring atmosphere savored in the quiet temple grounds is special.
