The Okayama Plain in southern Okayama was once a sea called "Kibi no Ananai." Since the Sengoku period, the people of Okayama have created 20,000 hectares of land through reclamation. The landscape created by reclamation is a major characteristic of Okayama. This exhibition introduces how the land around Kojima Bay expanded through pictorial maps. In addition to the Ikeda Family Archives from Okayama University Library and materials from Okayama City Library, part of the "Former Senoo Branch Materials" held by the same library will be publicly shown for the first time!
