A historic event held annually as the main attraction of the cherry blossom festival. The highlight is horses weighing nearly a ton pulling iron sleds up steep slopes and sand obstacles with power and technique. The sight of horse and rider advancing step by step in perfect unison is truly human-horse harmony. The thunderous hoofbeats and crowd cheers fill the venue. A spectacular traditional Tohoku competition enjoyed by all ages.
