In celebration of International Museum Day in May, a Tsuikin experience workshop is held! Tsuikin is a decorative technique where Tsuikin mochi — a mixture of lacquer (sap collected from the lacquer tree) and pigment (color powder) — is thinly spread, cut into pattern shapes, and adhered with lacquer. It is a representative technique of Ryukyu lacquerware, known for creating three-dimensional patterns. In the workshop, participants experience the Tsuikin technique and create an original approximately 9cm coaster. Open to elementary school students and above. Capacity: up to 10 persons.
