Horikiri Pass has about 8,000 mountain cherry trees along the pass road. Mountain cherries are also the prefectural tree, with many long-lived and large trees. Due to large individual differences, flower colors vary, and the blooming periods differ, allowing for hanami over a long period—a unique feature. From the pass, you can view the magnificent landscapes of the Nichinan Coast, including the Pacific Ocean spreading below, the wave-cut rocks continuing along the coastline, and rows of phoenix palms. It's a popular spot on the Nichinan Coast drive. How about a hanami filled with tropical atmosphere?
