Oita Prefectural Gokoku Shrine, where about 500 Yoshino cherries and double cherry blossoms bloom. From the shrine's observation deck, you can overlook the Oita urban area, Beppu, and Kunisaki Peninsula, and on clear days, even distant Shikoku. Hanami bento boxes can be brought in, but eating and drinking are prohibited inside the shrine gate, and fire is strictly prohibited within the precincts. Visitors must take their own trash home.
