The Path of History and Literature refers to the approximately 700 m route from the Otemon Ruins (Saiki City Otemae) to Yokenji Temple, the family temple of the Mori family, including Yamagiwa Street, and is selected as one of 'Japan's 100 Best Roads.' Yamagiwa Street, wrapped in tranquility, has buildings such as the birthplace of Yano Ryukei and the Sakamoto residence where Doppo lived (now Saiki Castle Town Doppo Kunikida Museum), retaining the appearance of bygone days—literally a 'Path of History and Literature.' Why not reminisce about distant times while admiring cherry blossoms against the white walls?
