Beppu City's major event held over 5 days starting from 'Onsen Appreciation Day' on April 1 every year, with rituals to give thanks for hot spring blessings and onsen-related plans. April 2 (Thu) features the 'Ogiyama Fire Festival' announcing the arrival of spring to the onsen god, April 4 (Sat) and 5 (Sun) feature the cultural exchange event between Beppu City and Thailand 'Beppu Songkran Festival' and festivals at venues in each district within Beppu City, and April 5 (Sun) features Fureai Dance, Yukemuri Grand Parade, mikoshi parade, and 'Yu Bukkake Matsuri' (Hot Water Splashing Festival) where you can feel the blessings of hot springs on your skin, on Beppu Station Avenue.
