Every spring, many cherry blossoms bloom in Kakegawa Castle Park. The cherry blossoms near the Otemon Gate are especially splendid, making it a perfect spot for commemorative photos with the castle keep in the background. The cherry blossoms in front of the palace, at the entrance of Takenomaru, and at the Dai Nippon Houtokusha, Ninomaru Art Museum, and Ninomaru Tea House are also magnificent. Along the nearby Sakagawa River, 'Kakegawa Cherry' blooms slightly later than Kawazu Cherry.
