Sumaura Park at the foot of the mountain is known as an old battlefield of Genpei and Ichinotani, opened to commemorate the enthronement of Emperor Showa. Since the park's opening, Yoshino cherries and black pines have been planted, making it a famous cherry blossom spot boasting the most cherry trees in the city. Sumaura Park as a whole has about 3,200 cherry trees, including a new species of cherry called Sumaura Fugenzo, discovered at Sumaura Park, which blooms yellow double flowers.
