Part of Mt. Mikuri (89.8m above sea level), a corner of Mt. Katsumata, is a colony of Miyama Tsutsuji (scientific name: Kobano Mitsuba Tsutsuji), designated as a Shizuoka Prefecture Natural Monument. Miyama Tsutsuji is distributed from Kyushu to the Chubu region, with the Oi River as its northern limit. Mt. Katsumata is located at the limit of distribution, growing wild and forming colonies at altitudes of 80m to 90m.
