The largest festival in Hita City, held to coincide with the opening of ayu fishing in the Chikugo River system and the start of cormorant fishing season. Fireworks are launched on two consecutive nights, with a total of approximately 10,000 fireworks lighting up the night sky. The booming sound unique to a basin reverberates through the mountains and can be felt throughout the body. On the Mikuma River, there are plenty of river events, including the Hangiri Genpei Battle where participants float in large wooden tubs.
