An exhibition of manga artist Mizuki Shigeru, who created many yokai (monster) works including his masterpiece 'GeGeGe no Kitaro'. In addition to introducing specific techniques for creating yokai paintings, about 100 yokai paintings will be unveiled at once. From monochrome paintings drawn using the shadows of pen and ink, to color paintings where you can enjoy the colors Mizuki Shigeru imagined for yokai, you can appreciate yokai works that resemble Hyakki Yagyo (Night Parade of One Hundred Demons). Diving into his early childhood experiences, the supernatural phenomena he encountered during his harrowing military service days, his yokai research after his debut, and his late-life activities, the exhibition traces the life of Mizuki Shigeru, who was fascinated by yokai.
