Azaleas come into full bloom at Hime-no-Sawa Park, selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Urban Parks. About 60,000 azalea plants are spread throughout the park. Stage events by students (Eisa dance, brass band, etc.), free access to the sports area, and about 160 koinobori carp streamers celebrating children's healthy growth are on display. The park's signature pink taiyaki (fish-shaped cake) — a flower festival limited item inspired by the azalea blossoms — will also be on sale.
